tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4808375493800890797.post4687120516700510806..comments2024-03-27T13:12:39.343-04:00Comments on A Concord Pastor Comments: In the evening on Holy Thursday...Concord Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18322127779647130869noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4808375493800890797.post-64385712114468033722012-04-05T21:41:20.470-04:002012-04-05T21:41:20.470-04:00I know this isn't the same thing, but this day...I know this isn't the same thing, but this day, Holy Thursday, and the washing of the feet, well, it came to my mind at work today...<br /><br />I believe that water can sometimes have a calming and soothing effect on us-<br />I work with infants and one little boy (5 months) who just started in our classroom, is very active and we are not sure yet how to help him calm down-<br />I decided today, at a time we don't usually do this, to bring out our water play tub-<br />I did this without saying what I was doing-<br />it was after lunch, before naptime, so I thought that would be a good time to try out the water's possible calming effects-<br />all of the children loved it, but this one particular boy was very happy and splashed and smiled-<br /><br />when I changed him into dry clothes and hugged him and brought him to his crib, I could barely zip up his sleep sack halfway when he closed his eyes and was asleep!<br /><br />his relaxed breathing and peaceful looking sleeping body made me feel peaceful too- <br />I felt happy that I possibly did something that helped this little child fall asleep and not experience the crying and distress that he had before-<br /><br />so again, I know this isn't the same, but to me, it helped me connect and feel I had some meaning and purpose and maybe a little bit of hope...michellenoreply@blogger.com
