If it's Wednesday, it must be...
Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day! Remember this? Well, Wednesday is also the day to begin preparing for this coming weekend's Mass and one of the best ways to do that is to read, reflect on and pray over the scriptures that will be proclaimed. Here are the scripture texts for the weekend of October 6/7.
And here's a link to the St. Louis University site with background material on those same texts.
As always, your questions and comments on these texts will be appreciated by your homilist.

ReplyDeleteI find the Gospel confusing. Is Jesus trying to tell us that before we can enjoy life, we must do all he commanded first? I don't see the correlation between the apostles asking Jesus for more faith, and the parable of the servant out in the field. Thank God for everyone out there I'm not a homilist!
ReplyDeleteHope you found the homily helpful to you, Gabriella. I think Concord Pastor missed your comment. But if it makes you feel any better, I too, found it confusing. It seems we can ask through our prayers all our lives, and still they are never heard. It's hard to not give up sometimes. Because it's seems we are not heard. All we can do is do what Concord Pastor suggests:, "act justly, love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God."
