O good God!
Make us grateful for all you have given us;
let our needs not blind us to all we have.
Make us grateful for those who love us;
let no jealousy separate us from hearts who hold us.
Make us grateful for those who are with us;
let no grief isolate us from their loving embrace.
Make us grateful for the good work we have done;
let our failures not hide your grace within us.
Make us grateful for the freedom we enjoy;
let no burden keep us down.
Make us grateful for the peace you give;
let no victory take its place.
Make us grateful for our dreams;
let no disappointment keep us from hope.
Make us grateful for our faith in you;
let no doubt keep us from your love.
Give us grateful hearts, O God,
to praise and thank you
in good times and in bad,
in sickness and in health,
in joy and in sorrow.
This is the day you have made, O Lord:
let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Thank you for giving us this Thanksgiving Day prayer. After scanning countless prayers online, this is the one which demonstrates the respect for our Lord, love and gratitude in my heart this year. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello. This is my first time at this site. After some technical hoops, I am now signed in. I suspect my earlier post went to cyber space. I am quite grateful for this Thanksgiving Prayer. It is a hurting world, including my own family. I think this prayer says what's in my heart and what I want to share this holiday season with those I love.
