A warm word from the south

If you were with me right now you could turn to your right and see a about an acre of land: partly grassy lawn peppered with fallen leaves; small stands of evergreens; and a backdrop of maples still holding on to some of their autumnal finery. Oh! And you'd be sitting on the back porch of my cousin's home in shirtsleeves, in 72˚ weather under a sunny sky! Such is life this afternoon in Mint Hill, North Carolina.

I wonder if I packed any Coppertone...

  3. I hope you aren't gloating! We are hovering around freezing...light snow followed by cold drizzle...wish I were sitting by a fireplace fire in a warm sweater holding a mug of mulled cider...actually that doesn't sound half-bad! Especially in light of the fact that Thanksgiving is two days away! The warmth of the weather is not so important as the warmth of being with family and friends. Enjoy your time with your family.

  4. Today was a little taste of things to come with a dusting of snow. I'll take being outside in shirtsleeves anyday !!

Enjoy it...you deserve the rest, warmth and family time.

We do miss you though ~

  5. For me, it was refreshing to see a little snow on this day here in New England! Sorry, Concord Pastor, that you missed it! How invigorating it was to see the freshly fallen flakes from the sky, feel a chill in the air! Concord Pastor, I know you'll understand this because you are a dog lover, even my puppy found the snow fun! He looked so happy to be sniffing in the white stuff! So fresh and pure - a gift from God!

  6. If you were with me now......you could look out the window and see the Butterfly bushes with their shades of red and gold, the backdrop of maples and apple trees surrounding the far back of our property with most of their leaves gone now, the beauty of the distant hills....yes touched with a little snow... Okay, I can't sit on the deck looking out unless I dress VERY warmly, but the beauty of every season is just plain too good to miss. Enjoy the warm weather but most of all, enjoy your family!
