This week's Word (top of the sidebar) is the second scripture from Mass for the First Sunday of Advent. The call is strong and demanding, asking us to take an inventory of our lives and to put away anything that stands between us and the Lord whose coming we await. We might well spend the whole of Advent pondering these words and the life to which they call us. That this text should come to us just as we enter the season of over-stuffing, over-drinking, over-giving and over-getting is perfect timing!
This is not the proper place for this comment, but I don't remember where you had asked us for favorite hymns. I would like to suggest "Lord of the Dance." I have only heard Holy Family do it once. The two years I lived in Laramie it was sung on Christmas Eve.
