A word to the wise...
It's possible to navigate from this blog to another one hosted by Blogger.com by a simple click on the menu bar over my masthead or through the links in my profile.
As you might imagine, Blogger hosts hundreds of thousands of blogs and "a simple click" will bring you to a random site with absolutely no connection to the one which came before it or the one that comes after it.
In my six months of blogging, two readers (about three months apart) have reported navigating this way and finding themselves in a place they certainly didn't want to be. I'm grateful for these two readers letting me know about this.
A word of advice: don't launch yourself into cyberspace unless you know where you're going to land. If you're looking for other blogs related to Catholicism or spirituality, use Google or another search engine to define your search. That approach will keep you on the path you want to walk.

Very good advice!
ReplyDeleteI was helping a friend set up a blog and told her about the "next blog" feature. I said, "Most probably, within less than 8 clicks you will be at an unacceptable site or looking at images that you wish you'd not been subjected to."
We clicked on "next blog" once....so I could show how the feature randomly picked sites....we hit porn the first time.
I have removed that navigational bar from my site. I would not be able to use my blog in class with a feature like that!!
I had to try it just to see what you were talking about. I landed on a site with a series of beautiful photos, many set in London, but other places as well. So now I know how to do "next blog." But your advice I have taken to heart. Caveat emptor.
