The Word and the Woolies

Shepherds still tend sheep as does this herdsman in the fields of Romania.

If it's Tuesday it's time to talk scripture for the coming weekend's liturgy.

Here's where you can find the texts and background materials for the Fourth Sunday of Easter. Got kids? Here's a way to help them "work with the Word" before arriving at church on Sunday.

One of the best ways to prepare for Sunday Mass is to familiarize ourselves with the scriptures we will hear.

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is often called Good Shepherd Sunday because the gospel in all three of the lectionary's years offers a piece of John's text on the Good Shepherd (in the year A, John 10:1-10; in year B, John 10:11-18; and in year C, John 10:27-30)

(While years A, B and C offers us the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke respectively, this Sunday is an example of how the Johannine gospel makes appearances in particular seasons.)
