Psalm 139 and the Divine Name
Todd, over at Catholic Sensibility, has been in touch with Dan Schutte, the composer of the familiar and beloved hymn, You Are Near, which uses the now forbidden tetragrammaton for the Divine Name. (See relevant posts of mine here and here.)
If nothing else, the response from Dan should clarify that the origins of such a musical setting were sincere, innocent, thoughtful and fruitful.
