This is the sixth day of the novena for wisdom and counsel as we prepare to vote in the presidential election.
God of all wisdom:
as we prepare to vote in this election
we seek to discern what is right and honorable,
what is true and just...
When we are confused
open our eyes and ears
that we may see and hear
what is true and what is false
in the promises made to us...
Let our motives be pure...
Help us to judge by the light of your word...
Sweep self-interest from our hearts...
Open our minds that we might understand
the complexities of the world's problems
and the simplicity of your truth...
Open us to the wisdom of the ages,
the teachings of our Church
and the prompting of your Spirit...
Give us courage
to love what is good, to do what is right
and to walk humbly in your company.
Fill our hearts with your Spirit
that we might discern wisely
and according to your will and your word.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Thank you so much for leading prayers for wisdom for this election. Unfortunately, my pastor in a neighboring town would not allow any reference to Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship in the bulletin.
