Monday Morning Offering - 28

Good morning, good God!

I’m fresh from Epiphany
with its star and magi and gifts...

You have revealed so much, to so many - to all!

You showed yourself as a child:
imminent and innocent,
vulnerably human, divinely loving,
inviting and intimate…

Help me see in the child, Lord,
Christ who is my brother,
my savior, my redeemer,
my prince of peace, my merciful judge,
my healing and my hope…

I pray that in the year ahead, Lord,
you will continue to reveal, to show,
to disclose, to unwrap
your presence in my life…

So, this morning I offer you my vision, Lord,
that I may see what you reveal…

Help me see you
when you show yourself
in the people I don’t like,
in the people who aren’t like me,
and in the people who don’t like me…

Help me see you, Lord,
in the times when I cannot find you.
Show me where you are
when I think you have forgotten me,
when I fear you cannot find me,
when I wonder if you have abandoned me...

Help me see you
when you pour out your healing
in my sorrow and in my pain…

Reveal yourself as the source of my joy
and show me the depths of what you have given me:
may I always give you the glory and the praise…

Help me see you
in the moment at hand, Lord,
and in my past:
show me where you are
and where you were…

Show up in my life every day, Lord!
And show yourself
at every twist and turn
along the path I walk…

At least once in a while, Lord,
dazzle me with your brightness and beauty –
I need the showstoppers
to carry me through the cloudy days…

Reveal yourself to me in my prayer, Lord:
help me to see the face of your presence,
an image of your compassion
and a glimpse of your love for me...

Help me see you in the church's prayer, Lord,
and uncover yourself for me
in the bread and cup of the Eucharist…

Unfold your plan for me, Lord,
and let me see where you lead me,
where you call me,
where you want me...

Reveal yourself in the simplicity
of the child of Bethlehem
and in depths of the One
who died for me on Calvary…

This morning I offer you my vision, Lord:
all that I see
with my eyes, my heart, my mind…

Show me who you are, O God,
and keep me as the apple of your eye…

  1. Great Monday morning offering! You have a gift for writing, Concord Pastor. I particularly liked the "showstoppers", as we all need these once in a while.

  2. You have said everything I need to say today.
Help me Lord, in the places I need help the most. And open my eyes to your love and wisdom. Sometimes I lose sight of where you are and if you even remember me.
    This is a keeper.
    Thank you CP.

  3. Nicely done Padre.

    Help me see you
in the moment at hand, Lord,
    and in my past:
    show me where you are
and where you were … I could use some of that.

Please THINK before you write
and PRAY before you think!
