The story of a rocking chair - Part II
Here's Part I of this story of a rocking chair.
Last night my sister and brother-in-law and I drove up to my grand-newphew's town here in Colorado. Before going to Mass with him and his mom and dad, we gathered around this nearly 62 year old chair to record for posterity the first and most recent members of our family to lay claim to this wonderful rocker.
Pooh was in the room but didn't make it into the pictures - just as the older Austin didn't make it into the rocker! Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed posing for them!

He's great! My daughters used my childhood rocker. It's in storage for whenever and if we have grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the pics!

OUTSTANDING
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Does "little Austin" call you "Great Uncle Austin," "Uncle Austin," "Austin," "Austin Who Once Owned My Rocking Chair When He Was a Little Boy"? Does he like being named after you? I think it is so nice that you and he are getting to know each other. Moments that he will one day treasure. Moments that I imagine you now treasure.
ReplyDeleteRight now he still speaks in an infant version of a Coloradan dialect which I find difficult to understand!
