I Ceili Immensi: the heavens tell the glory of God!

I'm no scientist but I found this amazing video largely accessible. I'm sure I'm missing a lot of what's there, but I grasped enough to be grasped myself by the wonder of the universe.

O LORD,
how awesome is your name through all the earth!
You have set your majesty above the heavens!
When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and stars that you set in place--
What are humans that you are mindful of them,
mere mortals that you care for them?
Yet you have made them little less than a god,
crowned them with glory and honor.
Psalm 8

The video above put me in mind of a piece I first heard when I was a student (1965-1967) at Cardinal O'Connell Seminary in Jamaica Plain: I Cieli Immensi, a setting of Psalm 18 by Benedetto Marcello. Here are the lyrics, in Italian and English, and a video performance of Marcello's beautiful choral work.

I cieli immensi narrano
The boundless heavens declare
Del grande Iddio la gloria.
The glory of the great God
E'l firmamento lucido
And the shining firmament
All' universo annunzia
Proclaims to the world
Quanto sieno mirabili
How wonderful are
Della sua destra l'opere.
The works of God's right hand.

H/T to The Anchoress for an earlier version of the Hubble video
