Advent peace in the harried, hurried holidays...

Yet, O LORD, you are our father;
we are the clay and you the potter:
we are all the work of your hands.
Isaiah 63:7

Like clay in your moist hands, O God,
shape me, form me, make of me
the person you desire me to be.
Turn me on the wheel of my life's
sorrows and joys
and smooth my rough places.
Touch me and let your warm fingerprints
mark me as your own.
Let me be as clay in your hands
for you know better than I
the person you call created and call me to be.

As God shaped Jesus in Mary's womb
so are we shaped in the cradle of God's hands...

How might the God be shaping, forming,
healing, recreating each of us
in this season of Advent?

  1. The peaceful beauty of the setting sun in this mountain scene, the colors of advent. The potter and the clay working together to create something useful, recreating us. And God shaping Jesus in Mary's womb...these thought are so beautiful. What a wonderful way to end this night.
