Haiti: at least one "preacher" doesn't get it

I've been hesitant to post on Pat Robertson's remarks yesterday on the catastrophic events in Haiti.

I'm grateful, then, to Paul Snatchko (Between the 'Burgh and the City) for his thoughtful post on Robertson's inane commentary.

  1. Paul's post is great. He says what needs to be said but with great integrity and wisdom.

  2. I have been thinking quite a lot about Haiti today. My hope and prayer is that finally, finally the world's attention is focused on the poorest nation in our hemisphere and that much good will come out of this tragic situation.

The initial outpouring of help is very promising. If we can mobilize our interest in and assistance to Haiti not just in the aftermath of its latest tragedy, but for the long haul, perhaps a long overdue miracle for this country that has suffered so much for so long will become a reality. May God be with the Haitian people in their great hour of need and with us as we seek to come to their aid.

  4. I think the White House comment on Robertson's statement is right on: "utterly stupid." Actually, is there anyone any more who takes Robertson seriously?
