Ave Verum by Mozart

Here's a translation of the Latin:
Hail, true body
born of the Virgin Mary,
Who truly suffered,
sacrificed on the Cross for man,
Whose pierced side
overflowed with blood,
Be for us a foretaste
in the trial of death.

First, let me say how much I enjoy your daily comments! Also, it is always a pleasure to listen to music and chorus when it is posted.

As a former Benedictine monk, I am sure you realize how much I enjoy listening to such hymns as Ave Verum.

My heartfelt congratulations to St. John's College choir for not only a splendid performance but also one that is spiritually motivating.
