How did this happen?

CandyBlog
It occurred to me this morning, the second day after Halloween, that in this whole spooky season not one piece of candy corn has been within my arm's reach!

How this came to pass I don't know.  I do know that I'm healthier for the absence of this seasonal treat but there is just a little sadness about the whole affair...

(Please Note: this is not a veiled attempt to get the locals to deliver candy corn to my door or my desk!)

  1. This rectory is awash in sweets - candy and cakes. People, so beautifully and wonderfully so, bring food here all the time, but right now it is epic!

If you were closer, I'd send some!

  2. I know where it all is....it's in my house (and my tummy). There's always next year....

  3. I'm glad you put a note about delivering candy corn to your door because I was ready to make a trip over.

  5. It's my very favorite Halloween candy! No one seems to give it to the kids anymore, so I have to buy it for myself. :-)

  6. I never was a fan of candy corn-
    chocolate is more my thing-
I see candy corn as more of a "decoration" or something, not something to eat.

I was in a store today and happened to pass by a small section of 50% off Halloween stuff- there on the top shelf were bags of the stuff-
I thought of you and this post (with a smile, I should add)-

  7. Haven't seen any like these in the UK. They look a bit strange to me - a bit like extracted teeth that have been painted.
I think you are right to steer well clear of them !

  8. Hard to believe these aren't universal since they're so omnipresent in the US!

  9. It may be the sheltered life I lead Austin !
Maybe they do exist here- I'll certainly have a look at sweets more carefully these next few days.
By the way, have you noticed that both of us are using music more frequently in our recent posts ?
I wonder if it is something to do with the season - it strikes me that there is a lot of unconscious stuff whirling around people at this time of year and music often expresses what we can't always articulate. ( Don't get me wrong - You have a great gift of finding just the right words at the right time!) I am just wondering !!

  10. Phil, I tend to go with what the Spirit has blown across my path but I'm always pleased when that includes music!
