some days, the waters roll with dark foreboding
and clouds conspire
to keep the sun from shining...
some days, a narrow band of light,
too far away for comfort's reach,
seems all that's left and not enough
yet, just that stripe along horizon's span
survives each day the fall of night
to rise and light a new day come...
