A midday prayer...

This is the day the Lord has made!

(What have I made of this day thus far?
What's this day making of me?
What will I make of the rest of my day?)

Help me rejoice and be glad in this day, Lord!

  1. One thing I've noticed about your daily prayers, Father. They often seem unrelated to the Mass readings of the day and from the meditations and prayers in your daily Office. Where does the inspiration come from? Do you draw from time before a crucifix, or before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament? Are these the thoughts that come to you as you watch pedestrians and cars from your rectory porch?

  2. "Crush what's not of You, Lord, that I desire to have or be,
Instead fill me up with Your Spirit; fill all parts of me,
To the ends of my finger, the ends of my toes,
To every brain cell and blood vessel, I hold."
"Fill me up with You, Lord."
