And now, the end is near...

This is my last night on vacation on the Cape . The photo is sunset at Kalmus Beach, here in Hyannis.

My time away has been relaxing and restful and I'm grateful for every day of it. When I return, people will ask me "What did you do on vacation?" The best answer I can give is, "Well, not much."
Lots of sleeping in late, reading the papers at a leisurely pace, some word puzzles, blogging, time for prayer, lots of good food and most of all - days on end of peace and quiet...

I'm pleased to be returning to Concord and the people of Holy Family - and pleased that we still have this one last weekend on our summer Mass schedule!

I've been looking at the scriptures and getting ready to preach after several weeks away from the ambo. And I hope you'll take time to look over this Sunday's scriptures and some commentary on them here and here.

So, one more time...
