August 27 is the feast of St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine. Monica was a favorite saint of my own mother, Ruth, who passed to the Lord on this day, 18 years ago.
And today, over at Whispers, Rocco has shares the story of the passing of his grandmother, Nina Pennachietti, known to his family and Whispers readers as "the Boss." His story is one of faith and family and it's rich enough to nourish even those who might never have read Rock's blog or known of his grandmother.
St. Monica, pray for us all!
