Find a quiet time and place to pray... take a few deep breaths...
be still... and know that God is near...
A word to reflect on:
Know that the LORD is God,
- Psalm 100
(Before moving on to the reflection below,
This I know and believe, Lord: you are my God!
I believe you made me, that I am yours,
that before I came to be, you knew and loved me...
I trust that you shepherd me through all my days:
good times and bad, in the calm and through storms,
in sickness and health, through weakness to strength,
through despair to hope...
Know that the LORD is God,
I believe in you
even when I doubt you...
I trust you're with me
when I can't find you...
I hope in your help
when I'm afraid you've abandoned me...
I wait for your word
when you're silent in my prayer...
I believe, I trust, I hope and wait, Lord,
because I know, deep in my heart,
that you are my God, that you are there,
that you are there with me and for me,
always...
I believe, I trust, I hope and wait, Lord,
because in the depths of my soul
your Spirit breathes my faith to life
even when all seems lost...
I believe, I trust, I hope and wait, Lord,
because your pulse within reminds and brings to life
my hope you've not abandoned me,
that in the mystery of your love I'm not alone,
I'm not forgotten...
I believe, I trust, I hope and wait, Lord,
because without you there is nothing,
because apart from you I'll find no peace,
because your love is better than life itself
and only in living for you
will I find the life I long for...
Know that the LORD is God,
Strengthen and deepen my faith, Lord,
when my weariness leads to doubt,
when my burdens bend my spirit's will,
when self-pity turns me from your face...
Let me never forget that you are my God,
that by your hand I was created,
that you alone have first claim on my heart,
that you shepherd me through all my nights and days...
In the quiet of my prayer, Lord,
give me comfort and assurance that you're always by my side,
that my faith is not in vain,
that my hope will bring me peace...
In the stillness of my prayer, Lord,
let the silence of your presence speak to me
and fill my restless heart with peace...
Let the silence tune my heart to hear your Spirit
breathing deep within me,
pulsing with the beat of your own heart,
quietly, faithfully speaking to my soul
while in faith, I wait and listen...
Know that the LORD is God,

he made us, we belong to him,
we are his people, the flock he shepherds...- Psalm 100

To ponder and pray over...
When have I believed even while I doubted?
When have I trusted and prayed
even when all seemed lost?
How has my faith lived through the silence of God?
Have I listened for the Spirit within me
when it seems that God has left me?
What will I ask of the Lord today?
From this prayer time, what word or phrase will I keep with me
to carry through the rest of my day?
From this prayer time, what word or phrase will I keep with me
to carry through the rest of my day?
(After you spend some time with these questions,
pray the reflection above one more time...)
