What will be the most important part of my day?
What will most completely command my attention?
my focus? my concern? my interest?
What will occupy my mind and heart today
and draw forth my love and care?
Lord, in just this way
will you love every one of us today...
Like a mother with her child:
you'll watch our every move, count our every step,
notice every smile and tear upon our faces,
and never leave our side...
Open my heart and make me grateful
for the love and care you have for us, for me, today...
