Open my heart, Lord, to hear the cry of the poor
and to respond generously
where I can supply what others need...
Open my ears to hear the cry of those right around me
and to respond as gently and graciously
as I am able...
As you hear the cry of the poor and of all your people
let me hear them, too, Lord, today...
