You'll never guess who I saw in church this morning!
The new pope has yet to move into his apartment in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. He is still staying at St. Martha's House, the hotel where the cardinals stayed during the conclave. This morning, Francis stopped in the chapel before the Mass he was about to celebrate there and he took a seat in the last row. I would love to have seen the look on the faces of the two women in the same row when they turned and saw him. In my parish, if you take that seat, you're likely to be tagged to help take up the collection.
The Mass Pope Francis celebrated here was for hotel workers, the Vatican gardeners and the crews that clean St. Peter's Square.
