Just when I thought I'd received the last of notes and cards congratulating me on the 40th anniversary of my ordination (May 19, 1973), there arrives this special greeting and blessing from Pope Francis!
The folks who planned my anniversary celebration were thoughtful enough to arrange for this and I'm very grateful. I'm certainly aware that thousands of such blessings go out from the Holy Father every year but this is the first one I've ever received and I'm especially pleased that it comes from Pope Francis.
