On one weekend each year, every parish in the Archdiocese of Boston is asked to host a priest, religious or lay person who works in the missions. The visiting missionary is assigned by the Office for the Propagation of the Faith.
This weekend my parish welcomed Aidan Smith, Archbishop of Honiara in Solomon Islands. Archbishop Smith, born in Dublin, is a Marist priest and has spent his entire ministry in Solomon Islands. It was a blessing to meet him and have him pray with us this weekend.
Since Archbishop Smith preached at all the Masses, I have no homily to post on this Sunday's scriptures.
