Lord, give me the smarts
to know when to stop
being stubborn and foolish,
short-sighted and kind of a jerk...
Lord, teach me to yield
to others' needs
and slow me down 'til I clearly see
what lies just up ahead...
Lord, give me the strength
to get up and go and move on
with my day and my life
on the journey that's mine to make...
Lord, open my eyes
to your light and the signs
that signal the way
you map for me and my travels...
Help me stop and pray,
help me yield to you
and go always, Lord,
in your way and in your peace...
