At the 5:00 Mass yesterday:
late afternoon light, streaming bright
through stained glass windows,
blessing our sanctuary
with colors divine...
Sunlight at 5:00 pm:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Longer days to praise you, Lord,
longer days to see your glory poking up
through earth's hard wintry crust
softened by the sun playing
and teasing us to hope and to believe
that spring will come again, indeed...
Let your light shine,
filtered through the prism of your mercy,
refracted in our souls, your heat
softening us until your glory blooms
like jonquils, poking up from deep within...
It's springtime, Lord:
a promise you have never failed to keep...
