| Raising of Lazarus by Dave Zelenka |
This interesting painting gives us Lazarus' view of his being raised from the dead. Mary and Martha, his sisters, wait outside the tomb with Jesus, waiting for Lazarus to come forth.
The raising of Lazarus is this Sunday's gospel text. The first reading, from Ezekiel, finds the Lord promising to open all our graves and have us rise from them! The second reading, from Romans, reminds us that the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead will raise us along with him.
