Thank you, Lord,
for yesterday's unexpected grace,
a pure gift:
just what I needed
and just when I needed it!
First there was the good news:
that deadline I was sweating
was suddenly extended
- without my even asking!
And with that, a rush of fresh air
swept through my whole being,
relaxing and releasing me
from tension's tight grip
and hold upon my spirit...
I left the office
and took a long walk, with you,
up and 'round Nashawtuc Road:
freer than I've felt in days and grateful
for the times and all the ways
when you surprise me
with unexpected grace...
Amen.
