Like a chick hatching from its shell
so the springtime,
cracking through the last thin ice of winter,
is slowly emerging, Lord,
warming towards the vernal sun,
coming to life afresh, anew...
In the same way, Lord,
gently tap my shell 'til I emerge,
reborn this Lenten spring,
the person you created me to be,
alive in you, in the life you promise,
in your name and in your love...
Amen.
