I won't know what pain and problems,
what hurt and fear,
fill the hearts of those whose paths cross mine today...
Nor will others know what stories and worries
what grief and loss,
burden me behind my ready smile...
So, help us, Lord,
help us be as gentle with one another today,
as you are, every day, with each of us...
