NIGHT PRAYER: Sunday 8/2
Remembering, Lord...
What a gift and a blessing: just to remember
the happy times, the best of days and seasons of love..
Remembering, Lord...
Sometimes a weight and a burden: recollecting
the rough patches, the blue days and seasons of grief...
Remembering, Lord...
Memories are the souvenirs
of all the joy I've known
and memories are reminders
of what I wish I could forget...
My heart's where memories gather, Lord,
the bitter and the sweet,
my soul is home to all that's been,
my sorrows and my joys...
So, rest here, Lord, within my heart
to heal what tears and troubles
and be there when it's time to share
fond memories filled with peace...
Amen.
There Is A Place by Liam Lawton
There's a time to remember, a time to recall
The trials and the triumphs, the fears and the falls
There's a time to be grateful for moments are blest,
The jewels of our memories, where love is our guest
There is gold that is glimming in a past we once knew
In our tears and our laughter 'tis love brought us through
And there's a road we have traveled where sunlight has kissed
That carries us onwards when loved ones are missed
There is treasure in our fields, there is treasure in our skies
There is treasure in our dreaming from the soul to the eyes
For wherever we gather in the light of God's grace,
For all who we remember, there will ever be a place
In the quiet of this evening at the close of our day
We will rest from our journeys, to the Lord we will pray
And as we thank God for blessings for the moments we shared
As we look to tomorrow, our God will be there
There is treasure In our fields, there is treasure in our skies
There is treasure in our dreaming from the soul to the eyes
For where ever we gather in the light of God's grace
And for all that we remember, there will ever be a place
