NIGHT PRAYER: Wednesday 4/28

My prayer this evening, Lord,
is a prayer I'd do well to offer every night
because there's not a day goes by
when I don't have cause to praise and thank you
for so many gifts and blessings...

For the times you helped me make a difference today,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For the times your Spirit tapped my gifts and talents,
sharing with others what you have shared with me,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For the times today when my eyes were open
to your presence and power all around me,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For any time this day when, if only for a moment,
I turned to you in prayer,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For the times you helped me know what to say
and gave me the courage to speak,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For the times today when I really tried
to see life through my neighbors eyes,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For those times today when my ears were open
and I heard your word, your voice, your call
in the sounds and silence of this world,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For any time today when I was humbled
and saw and understood myself
for precisely who I am: no more, no less,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For the joyful moments when I knew
I was, indeed, at last at peace with you,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For "keeping it in today"
instead of worrying over yesterday
or fretting  'bout tomorrow,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

For any time today, Lord,
when I let go my foolish ways
and truly searched for wisdom,
I give you thanks and praise...

For all the times I tried today
just to do the next right thing,
I give you thanks and praise, Lord...

Every day is filled, Lord,
with your blessings and your gifts:
some I surely miss but for the many that I find,
I give you thanks and praise
for each moment, for each grace...

Protect me, Lord at the end of day
and watch over me when I fall asleep
that awake, I might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace...

Amen.
