Over the past few days, Lord,
I've done a lot of spring cleaning:
I know it's not the season
but I didn't get to it back in April
and - well, better late than never, right?
I don't know why I put it off:
I always feel so good once it's done!
There's a real grace, Lord,
in sorting through all my stuff,
taking inventory,
organizing what's in disarray,
putting things where they belong
and most of all: trash bagging
all that needs to go!
It's work that leaves me feeling clean,
refreshed, renewed, ready to begin again!
Somehow, Lord,
the ordering of things around me
orders everything within
and brings me peace,
making room in every way
for you
in my house and in my heart
where you come to make your home...
However late comes my spring cleaning
your grace is never out of season, Lord,
and I'm grateful for the peace I've found,
around and deep within,
in cleaning of my rooms
and your cleansing of my soul...
Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake
and watch over me while I sleep
that awake, I might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace...
Amen.

Create In Me by Jay Stocker
Create in me a pure heart, O God, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
So I can be holy, so I can be clean before you, Lord.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
So I can be holy, so I can be clean before you, Lord.
So I can be holy, so I can be clean before you, Lord,
before you, Lord, clean before you, Lord.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, O God.
