Some days, Lord,
are light and airy, bright and joyful,
filled with good news, lifting our spirits,
confirming our faith, renewing our hope...
While some days, Lord,
are weighted with worry, shadowed by grief,
bearing sad tidings, wilting our spirits,
testing our faith and deepening our need to trust...
And many days, Lord,
are somewhere between the highs and the lows,
blessed by an everyday simple routine,
graced by faith in the love you pledge...

(When looking for tonight's song, Godspell's Day By Day came to mind but I wanted something more reflective in tone - that's when I came across Victor Johnson's setting of the well known lyrics which, by the way, are attributed to St. Richard of Chichester who died in 1253.)
