Just over two years ago, Pope Francis invited us to observe the Third Sunday in Ordinary time each year as Word of God Sunday, a particular Sunday to celebrate the perennial gift of God's Word to us in the scripture and in prayer. Today's readings fit this theme well and I worked to develop that in my homily.
