Just yesterday, in a moment of pure grace,
you poked my heart, Lord,
you nudged me out of a foggy haze - to prayer...
I wonder how long you'd been trying to get my attention,
how often you tugged on my sleeve before I noticed,
how many times you called my name before I answered...
I wonder how many times each day
you poke, prod, nudge me,
looking to spend some time with me, in prayer...
Give me the grace I need today, Lord,
to wake up when you nudge me
and to hear you when you call me
to turn to you in prayer...
Amen.
