NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 3/7

Sometimes we just can't get to sleep, Lord:

our minds race

   with plans for how to care for others;

our hearts strain

    with longing ache for those we love;

our souls are restless

    with fear of where the world is headed...

 

Help us find good rest tonight, Lord,

and while we sleep:

   watch over all the weary, the ailing and the dying;

   comfort all who suffer and all who tend their needs;

   shield your world from war, from terror and destruction;

   guard all your little ones and those who've now grown old;

       bid your saints and angels watch over us this night...

Tend us in your loving care, Lord,
   and grant a good night's sleep
that we might rise refreshed
   for all the morning's sun may brings...
