On the church calendar, tomorrow is Thursday of the Second Week of Lent -and- Saint Patrick's Day. Patrick is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Boston and so his feast enjoys a precedence on the local calendar - as it does in the hearts of many in many places.
On the eve of the 17th then, I offer you a haunting musical rendition of a prayer attributed to Saint Patrick. The prayer's words and the plaintive melody are faithful to the season in which his feast falls each year. This piece is definitely "night" prayer - I promise you a lighter tune for the top o' the morning tomorrow!

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every one who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
Christ with me.
Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake
and watch over me as I sleep
that awake, I might keep watch with you
and asleep rest in your peace...
Amen.
