Pause for Prayer
More than anything, Lord,
I long for a hug that never quits:
for arms that hold me heart-beat close,
surrounding me with gentle strength,
enfolding and protecting me...
More than anything, Lord,
I ache for your bear hug, mercy's squeeze,
the press of your pardon, full and firm:
forgiving my every fault and sin,
entwining me in wings of grace...
More than anything, Lord,
I yearn for your embrace:
your strong arms, opened wide,
waiting, ever willing, even wanting
to welcome and to hold me
always and forever in your love...
Amen.
