NIGHT PRAYER: Monday 7/3

Blessed are you, God of all time:

    for the life that's ours

        is your gift to us...

Blessed are you, God of all wisdom:

    for the liberty we delight in

        is your gift to us...

Blessed are you, God of all joy,

    for the happiness we pursue

        is your gift to us...

Blessed are you, O Lord, our God

    for these unalienable rights

with which you have freely endowed us

    to live, defend and share...

     

Blessed are you, O Lord, our God, 

     for all that's ours:

        our liberty, independence and freedom

and for every right that's ours to enjoy,

    for each is your gift to us:

        from your heart and hands to ours...

May our gratitude for your blessings

    and our love for our nation

        make us worthy of all your gifts...

Give us courage and strength    

    to protect all you've given us

    to share it generously

    and to defend with your wisdom

        the freedom we prize and enjoy... 

 

Protect us, Lord, while we're awake

    and watch over us while we sleep

that awake, we might keep watch with you

    and asleep, rest in your peace...

Amen.

   Am I grateful for these rights or do I take them for granted?

                How have these rights shaped the person I am?
