On Sunday, Night Prayer takes its lead from some aspect of the day's mass: today is the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ...

I receive you, Lord, in Holy Communion,

and so become one with all those you feed...

Receiving you, Lord, in the depths of my heart,

I receive your heart as a guest in my own...

In receiving your saving Body and Blood

you bless my life with your healing touch...

I receive you, Lord, and God's very Word

takes flesh in my own flesh and bone...

You prepare a banquet for me, O Lord,

and invite me to feast on your Wisdom

I receive you, Lord, in your Bread and your Cup,

grateful to share in your Passover meal...

I receive so much more than I'll ever deserve

or merit or earn or lay claim to...

I receive your mercy, your gifts and your grace

as food for my journey, Lord, home to you...

I receive you, Lord, my living God

and my heart if filled with joy,

my heart is filled with peace and joy...

Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake

and watch over me while I sleep

that awake, I might keep watch with you

and asleep, rest in your peace...

Amen.
