The quote in the graphic is from tomorrow's first reading...
If I have any wisdom at all, it's this:
What I truly need to forsake, Lord:
- is the totally foolish thinking
that there's nothing foolish I need to let go...
- and the foolhardy hope of believing
I can live a decent and happy life
while keeping my foolish ways...
- and the foolishly stupid delusion
that I might grow in knowing the truth
apart from the gift of your wisdom...
So, help me forsake my foolishness, Lord,
and nourish my soul with your wisdom's bread;
give me to drink from your cup of healing
and lead me to follow your way, your path...
Show me, O Lord, what I need to forsake
and open my heart to receive all you offer;
help me let go what burdens my spirit
and fill my soul with desire for you...
Protect me, Lord, while I'm awake
and watch over me while I sleep
that awake, I might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace...
Amen.
