Holy Google!

No, that's not actually Google's Pentecost logo! Although Google does dress up its logo for a number of holidays, Pentecost is not among them. Some clever cyber-artist put this together and if nothing else, I hope it got your attention!

Here's the serious stuff:

Have you done your scripture homework for the Pentecost weekend?

The scripture texts and background materials are a click away - go for it! You'll want to note that the readings for the Vigil (Saturday) Mass are different than the Sunday texts. (Unless, of course, your preacher decides to use the Saturday texts on Sunday! Take a look at them all, just in case.)

Got kids? Then lead them here to help them prepare for Mass. (The children's site focuses only on the readings for Sunday celebration of Pentecost.)

Perhaps as you sit down to reflect on the scriptures for Mass this weekend, you might click on the Veni, Sancte Spiritus at the top of the sidebar.

  1. I did fill out the sidebar, but I also wanted to mention how beautiful I thought your visuals which accompanied each day of the novena were. And Veni Sancte Spiritus was truly lovely. Spirituality for many of the senses. Thank you.

  2. Thank you for your kind word! Searching the internet for appropriate graphics for my posts is a piece of work - but I think it's worth the effort. When I found the photo for the post titled "Choiring Jonquils Hymn the Sun" I was thrilled to find such a perfect illustration.

Having worked in this forum it makes my parish bulletin and weekly letter in seem rather drab!

Thanks for your comment: it makes it all worthwhile!
