A prayer for Labor Day weekend

This Labor Day weekend is a good opportunity for us to remember the wealth of Catholic teaching on concerns and issues related to labor and justice for workers. The Catholic Labor Network  provides an excellent collection of resources on such issues
(click on Library at the top of the page) with links to documents as old as the papal encyclical of 1891 up to our own day.

On this long Labor Day weekend, take a few minutes to click on the link above and to read, at least, the US bishops' Labor Day statement.
And here's a link to the 2016 USCCB Labor Day statement.

  1. The US bishops' Labor Day statement is excellent! I hope that it will be published in The Pilot.

  2. Happy Labor Day to All!
"The Way we Worked" is an ongoing exhibit at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington focusing on the history of work in America. My husband and I recommend it for locals and visitors to the area, especially for this weekend.

  3. I've been out of work so long I find that I am sad it is another 3 day weekend...a lost Monday --a vacant date on the job search schedule.
