The world’s first Catholic television widget!

Here's a press release from Boston's CatholicTV:
CatholicTV has just introduced a new “widget” which is essentially a miniature television set that can be put onto any website. The widget is called CatholicTVjr. CatholicTVjr offers over 30 different television programs each offering as many as 27 full episodes. The offering of so much free television programming is unprecedented. All 4 major national television networks offer widgets, but only CatholicTVjr offers full-length programs. The Director of CatholicTV, Fr. Robert Reed came up with the idea because he had “the desire to share CatholicTV’s content with dioceses, parishes, schools, and anyone who has a website. It’s the world’s first Catholic television widget”, says Reed.

Pope Benedict XVI has already dedicated World Communications Day 2010 to the theme "The priest and pastoral ministry in a digital world: new media at the service of the Word." CatholicTV is a non-profit corporation and there will never be a charge for this service in support of this theme and reaching every corner of the world with the joy of the Good News.
I'm not sure if I'm the first to embed the "world's first Catholic television widget" on a blog, but I'm pleased to be, at least, among the early entries!

You'll find the widget by scrolling down my sidebar. Click on the widget and a new screen will appear. To find a variety of programs, work the horizontal bar with the left/right arrows and available programs will appear by topical groups.

Thanks to CatholicTV for making this available!

  1. I just watched "Going My Way" with Fr. Chris Hickey, Fr. Paul Rouse and guest Fr. Tom Nestor. What a sketch!

This program led by Fr. Chris Hickey with his magnanimous personality sheds a light on the priesthood that I found to be delightful. You all really can have fun! And what good voices these three priests had!

Thanks for adding this widget to your blog, CP.
