UPDATED: Better than a box of chocolates!
Photo: CP - Click on the pie for a larger slice!
So, I was invited to dinner this evening and offered to bring dessert.
I recently enjoyed and got the recipe for a delicious easy-to-make pineapple cream pie, decorated here with small candy hearts for Valentine's Day.
It's so simple that even I could make it - and everyone loved it!
UPDATE! Check the recipe in the combox - the "pkg of vanilla instant pudding" should have been "LARGE pkg of vanilla instant pudding."
I'm not very handy in the kitchen so when I come up with something good, I'm eager to show it off!

Looks delicious Father, hope you share the recipe.....:-)
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! Can you post the recipe?
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I shared a slice of delicious red velvet cake at a brunch in Salem yesterday.
Looks great!! How about posting the recipe for this dessert????
ReplyDeleteEasy enough and Holy Orders is not required! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWOW......I am totally impressed at your culinary skills.....which have been long buried. Wonder what the next step is?
ReplyDeleteNext step? Same pie, with little green shamrocks!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am impressed no matter how easy it may be!!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I confessed in the post that this was an easy-to-make dessert, I feared someone might ask the recipe question and I'd be exposed for the non-chef that I am!
ReplyDeleteHere's how you do it:
Mix in a bowl:
16 oz. sour cream
1 can crushed pineapple, including the juice
1 LARGE pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
Pour into graham cracker pie crust
and refrigerate
Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip
(and little hearts on 2/14)
Voila!
So simple it's embarrassing!
Well, I mixed the ingredients with a whisk - that's kind of like real baking, right?
:-)
