This Sunday's gospel includes the shortest verse in the bible, John 11:35:
And Jesus wept.
Why did Jesus weep? He wept for his friend, Lazarus, who had died.
The breadth and depth of the portrait of Jesus in this gospel passage is remarkable.
As you prepare for worship this weekend, read over the scriptures you'll hear proclaimed at Mass, here and here.
Read them, study them and pray over them.
