Have you spent some time yet with the scriptures you'll hear proclaimed at Mass this weekend?

Even just a few minutes of your time will open and prepare you to hear what the Lord will speak to us this Sunday...

For these texts and commentary on them - and for tips to help your kids prepare to hear the Word - check this earlier post.

  1. I feel that EVERY weekend the scriptures are...
    challenging-
    even difficult-
    to understand-
    to grasp-
    sometimes it is easier-
sometimes they do speak to me, more directly-

but, THIS weekend especially, I can't reach them-
    it is especially difficult-

I think, maybe, it is good that I am at least trying-
spending some time with the scriptures,
    and praying,
    trying...

but, it is really hard when I don't feel anything...

I pray that I will feel-
    something-
    when I hear them tomorrow...

  2. I just wanted to "follow-up" from my comment from last night, if I could-
I prayed that I would feel-
    something-
    at Mass today...

    well, I did.
it was at the beginning of Mass, and it was only for a short time, but I did feel something-
    something good-
    something even a little hopeful-

at the end of Mass, thinking back on how I couldn't keep those good feelings...
    I felt like I failed.

but then, I stopped myself- I felt grateful for the little bit of time at the beginning-
I remembered how I felt and it brought back those good feelings-
so, even though I couldn't keep it for long, I did have this experience and I am grateful for it-
and I thank God for it.
